By accessing or using our Services, you agree to comply with and be legally bound by these Terms, as well as our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, which are incorporated by reference. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must immediately stop using the Services.
These Terms apply to all users of the Services, including homeowners, tradespeople, and any other visitors or registered users accessing the platform.
1.1. Our Service
TradeMatchUK is an online platform that connects homeowners ("Homeowners") with tradespeople ("Tradespeople") for the purpose of posting jobs and receiving quotes. By using the Services, you acknowledge that we provide the following:
- A job posting feature for homeowners to find qualified tradespeople.
- A directory of tradespeople, searchable by homeowners.
- A live chat feature for communication between homeowners and tradespeople.
- Profile customisation options for tradespeople, including details about services, qualifications, and galleries of previous work.
The information provided through the Services is not intended for distribution to or use by any person or entity in any jurisdiction or country where such distribution or use would be contrary to law or regulation or would subject us to any registration requirement within such jurisdiction or country. Users accessing the Services from locations outside the United Kingdom do so at their own initiative and are solely responsible for compliance with local laws.
1.2. Tradesperson use
Tradespeople may:
- Join the directory and make their profile visible to registered homeowners.
- Subscribe to search for and quote on job postings in their selected radius.
- Update their profile details, including their bio, services, qualifications, and image gallery.
- Modify their service area radius at any time.
- Receive homeowner contact details only after being hired for a job.
- Upload required documents for verification, such as ID, public liability insurance and any necessary certifications (e.g., gas safety).
- Complete trade-specific tests to gain access to additional trades or services.
- Upload images of their previous work to their gallery.
1.3. Homeowner use
Homeowners must create an account and verify their contact number to:
- Post jobs and receive quotes from tradespeople.
- Communicate with tradespeople via live chat before hiring.
- View tradespeople"s galleries and profiles.
When a homeowner presses the “Hire” button on a tradesperson"s profile, the tradesperson will receive the homeowner"s contact information. Homeowners and tradespeople are permitted to share contact details via live chat if they agree to do so.
2. Contract formation with Tradespeople
- Account Creation: You will need to create an account to access leads and interact with homeowners.
- Verification Process: You will be required to answer trade-specific questions and provide proof of identity, public liability insurance and any necessary certifications.
- Subscription Plans:
- Directory Listing: A yearly fee of £74.99 to be listed in the directory.
- Job Posting Access: A monthly fee of £3.99 to access job leads posted by homeowners.
- Confirmation of Subscription: After payment, you"ll receive a confirmation email and invoice.
- Access to Leads: Once subscribed, view job leads within your radius and message homeowners directly.
- Automatic Renewal: Monthly and annual plans renew unless cancelled.
- Subscription Changes: Cancel subscriptions via your account at any time.
- Compliance: Subscription constitutes agreement with these Terms.
3. Contract formation with Homeowners
- Create an account to post jobs and browse the tradesperson directory.
- Post job listings and receive quotes.
- Choose and hire tradespeople based on quotes and profiles.
- Contact details shared after hiring via the “Hire” button.
- Communicate via live chat before and after hiring.
- Agree payment terms directly with the tradesperson.
- You may cancel job posts anytime before hiring. After hiring, arrangements are between you and the tradesperson.
- TradeMatchUK is not liable for quality or performance of work done by tradespeople.
4. TERMINATION
- Account Deletion: Delete your account via \"My Account.\" Once deleted, you must re-register to return.
- Subscription Management: Tradespeople may stop renewals via \"My Account.\" Payments are non-refundable after processing.
- Data Retention: Some info may be retained for legal/regulatory reasons.
- Effect of Termination: Access to services ends; outstanding balances remain due.
- No Refunds: Unless otherwise required by law.
5. Refund Policy
- Monthly Plan: 14-day cooling-off refund unless hired within the period.
- Annual Directory Fee: 14-day refund window; pro-rata refund if cancelled.
- Consumer Rights: Complies with UK Consumer Rights Act 2015.
- Refund Requests: Email customercare@tradematchuk.co.uk.
6. Your use of our services
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the platform for its intended purpose. Commercial misuse is not permitted.
7. Your submissions
By submitting feedback, content, or suggestions, you assign us intellectual property rights to them. Do not submit unlawful or defamatory content.
8. Prohibited activities
You may not:
- Engage in fraud or impersonation
- Use the service illegally
- Harass or abuse users
- Send spam
- Violate intellectual property laws
- Misuse payment systems
- Manipulate reviews
- Disrupt or hack the service
- Engage in illegal activity
9. Enforcement and consequences
Violations may result in account suspension or legal action. Report misconduct via the “Report User” feature or email.
10. User generated contributions
You are responsible for any content you post, and you must ensure it complies with laws and platform guidelines.
11. Contribution license
We may use feedback and contributions to improve services, without compensation to you. You retain ownership, but you must indemnify us from legal consequences of your content.
12. Services management
We may monitor and moderate activity, remove or disable content, and take legal action as needed.
13. Limitations of liability
We are not liable for:
- Personal injury or death
- Losses of income or opportunity
- Errors, viruses, or unauthorized access
- Third-party website content
14. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless TradeMatchUK for any legal claims resulting from your use of the platform or your content.
15. User data
We retain performance-related data and are not liable for data loss. Back up your data independently.
16. Electronic communications, transactions, and signatures
You consent to electronic communications and transactions. These are legally binding.
17. Miscellaneous
These Terms are the full agreement. No joint venture or partnership is created. Our failure to enforce any provision does not waive our rights.
